Cyber Crime or how could Internet destroys the world?
November 6, 2008First and foremost, what’s a cyber crime?
Computer crime, cybercrime, e-crime, hi-tech crime or electronic crime generally refers to criminal activity where a computer or network is the source, tool, target, or place of a crime. These categories are not exclusive and many activities can be characterized as falling in one or more category. Additionally, although the terms computer crime and cybercrime are more properly restricted to describing criminal activity in which the computer or network is a necessary part of the crime, these terms are also sometimes used to include traditional crimes, such as fraud, theft …
That’s more or less the Wikipédia definition of a cyber crime.
The danger about this crime is that there no global legislation to punish them. If you come from United States and steal money from an exclusively bulgarian bank, the process until a trial could last nearly the eternity.
Moreover we lived in a world which is ruled by Internet, at least by computer programm and so … No wonder the leaders of the world feared an international informatic Bug in 2000, it would jjust ruine everything, and first the economy if internet went to a big bug. 8 years later it’s more truth than ever.
That’s why cybercrime are so dangerous. A fraud and a Theft are bad but not as bad as if gifted hacker decided to make the world become hell.
that’s what the film Die Hard 4 put on screen in 2006 :
This time, Bruce Willis aka John McClane saved the world and he fights again the talentuous hacker in the world, who had been fired from The american admistration, because he was trying to prove them that a good hacker could destroy the world.
As a revenge, he decides to actually destroy it to prove he’s right !
The moral of the film is : Dont’ upset a Hacker !
and … Bruce Willis is stronger than 2 war planes !
